WORKSHOPS
In the workshops, you will explore the technique and theatre form of Troupe Courage. Troupe Courage is famous for its raw, poetic and comic theatre. The group has developed a unique style inspired by the Commedia dell'Arte. It is playful and precise. The work requires intense training and easy to fall in love with.
The playful and positive approach, from a very precise pedagogy, creates openness to creation and innovation.
Troupe Courage now conducts workshops at the Amsterdam School of Drama & Cabaret (ATKA) of ATD and NYU Tisch School of the Arts' Department of Drama, among others. Courage also regularly organises intensive two-week workshops with open registration.
SUMMERSCHOOL 2025
7th till 13th July
This July Troupe Courage is back with their Courage Summerschool.
The one-week training program is developed for theatre professionals from around the world who want to deepen their skills and enrichen their craft.
In this 7-day training you will explore the unique techniques and theatre form of Troupe Courage; well known for its a raw, poetic and comic theatre inspired by Commedia dell’Arte.
The training includes physical transformation, psychology of movement and mask acting.
Lead by the artistic core team of Troupe Courage you will work on imagination, musicality, creating comedy out of tragedy, playfulness, stage presence, improvisation and timing. The essential tool used will be the archetypical masks, that unlock the creativity and imagination of the actor.
Theater Hotel Courage brought a whole new level of skill and concentration to our work. The work is deadly serious and enormous fun. . The work engages feelings way below conscious thought."
